Hi, sist sikin. Thank you four your exolanation, but do you know what is politeness theory in pragmatics?
Sikin Nuratika mengatakan…
Hi Vero! thanks for your question. The Politeness theory is a theory that appeared within the framework of pragmatic approach in linguistics. According to this theory the interlocutors use particular strategies in order to achieve successful communication. These strategies enable to create maximally comfortable environment for communication. Thank you.

Hi Sikin. I wanna ask about Brown and Levinson's theory of Positive and Negative face. How did you see it as a person? Postive face that you have written wants to be liked by others but the negative one wants to preserve her/himself or maybe you can say protect themselves. But naturally, people will say we need to have more in positive face? How is your perspective about this?
Sikin Nuratika mengatakan…
Hello Maya! So sweet of you. You give me such amazing words. I hope I can make it better for the next times. ๐Ÿ˜˜

Hello SISKA! You give me good questions about my perspective on Positive and negative face by Brown and Levinson's theory and the need to have more in positive face. As we do know, Brown and Levinson try to show their faces' version in their Politeness Theories book as "public self-image" which should be maintained by ourselves while communicating with others. Sometimes, people always want to keep their interlocutors looking at them as good speakers by coveying good sentences and certainly not making face threatening acts to them. That is an ordinary thing. ๐Ÿค—

Thank you for responding to my question sikin. So, If I can say basicly, based on Brown and Levinson theory, there are always two sides of faces here, but in reality, people will choose more on positive face for public speaking or speech act.
But for the other case, there are some whose thirsty for attention by acting in negative face. How do you see this one as the case? Sorry I ask about this case Sikin. Hehe..because in reality, it's not taboo again for some people doing it for getting attention only. It's really pity.

Hi Siska. You ask me a great question. There are two sides of faces, negative face and positive face. in reality, people will choose more on positive face for public speaking or speech act. That's my statement also on the previous answer. People always want to keep their interlocutors looking at them as good speakers by coveying good sentences and certainly not making face threatening acts to them. That is an ordinary thing. ๐Ÿค— you said that in another case, someone is thirsty for attention by acting in negative face. What do you mean by that? I think that people seek attention by making a positive face. ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿค”
Fransiska Gan mengatakan…
What I mean is there are some people who seeking for attention and do or say negative thing to others. How do you see this case? Your perspective only Sikin. ๐Ÿ˜Š

hello sikin ... I will ask about semantics ... Explain the location of the antonyms in the language of the teacher such as the level of morpheme, words, phrases, and sentenceฤŸs!
EVAHARTININGSIH mengatakan…
Why is the use of the term opposition more appropriate than the use of the term antonym?
EVAHARTININGSIH mengatakan…
Briefly explain differences in opposition, relations of hierarchical opposition, and plural opposition!
Veronica Saragi mengatakan…
Hi, sikin, so what is the weakness and strongness about this theory?
